Bronze Artifacts
The Scanning Process
The process of creating a 3D image from an artifact begins in NextEngine Scan Studio HD. NextEngine is a scanning software which uses multiple lasers to capture a 360 degree view of the depth and texture of an artifact. Once the scans are obtained, we then import them into RapidForm, a program which allows us to align and clean the images- it is here that our artifact truly begins to take a three-dimensional form. After several hours of aliging, merging, cleaning, and decimating the scans, our 3D replica of the artifact is then ready to be exported and made into a PDF file. Once a PDF, our artifact can finally be used for display or research.
