Curation
Gombe Chimp Collection
Some chimpanzee bones from Gombe are stored here as well. Randi Jundt's latest project was to curate the bones of chimpanzee juveniles which have recently been added to our collection from Gombe. These bones are stored behind you in room 355. Many of the papers published in the UMN Anthropology Department are studies about this group of chimpanzees.

The new chimpanzee juvenile bones arrived in three boxes which were packed with primate bones needing curation. The bones are now in protective boxes stored in a locked cabinet. Along with the bones is a checklist which catalogues what exactly we received. Now the bones have a much better chance of not getting damaged or misplaced since being curated. This allows for the bones to be analyzed and researched appropriately. The bones are a precious addition to the collection and will be treasured by professors, researchers, students and curators here at the University of Minnesota for many years to come.
